Accessibility
Our Approach
Haus Mannenberg welcomes all guests and is committed to making both our website and our hospitality experience as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible.
We recognise that accessibility needs vary from person to person. If you have any questions before booking, we encourage you to contact us so that we can discuss the layout of the house, bedroom and bathroom locations, and available facilities with you directly.
Website Accessibility
We aim to make our website clear, easy to navigate and usable across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
As the website continues to develop, we seek to follow recognised accessibility principles, including:
* clear and consistent navigation
* readable typography
* sufficient colour contrast
* meaningful headings and page structure
* descriptive text for important images
* keyboard accessibility where technically possible
* clear forms, labels and error messages
* content that can be enlarged without unnecessary loss of information
Our aim is to work towards alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA where reasonably achievable.
Some functions, including booking, payment, maps, newsletters or embedded third-party content, are provided by external platforms. Although we select established providers, we cannot control every aspect of their accessibility.
If you experience difficulty using the website or completing a reservation online, please contact us and we will assist through an alternative method where possible.
The Property
Haus Mannenberg is a carefully restored historic house dating from the early 18th century.
Its original architecture includes:
* stairs between floors
* uneven timber and stone surfaces
* raised thresholds
* changes in floor level
* exposed beams
* varying ceiling heights
* narrow passages in certain areas
There is no lift, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are located across different levels of the house, with some accessible only by stairs.
The property is therefore not fully wheelchair accessible and does not currently offer a purpose-built accessible bedroom or bathroom.
Planning Your Stay
We understand that each guest’s requirements are different.
Before booking, we are happy to discuss:
* the location of bedrooms and bathrooms within the house
* the number and type of stairs
* bathroom access
* doorway and circulation space
* parking and the route to the entrance
* visual or hearing-related needs
* written arrival instructions
* allergies and dietary requirements
* assistance dogs
* medical or mobility equipment
* evacuation considerations
Where reasonably possible, we can provide photographs, measurements or further descriptions to help you decide whether Haus Mannenberg is suitable for your stay.
Assistance and Individual Needs
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual requirements where this is safe, practical and compatible with the historic building.
This may include:
* explaining which bedrooms and bathrooms may be most suitable for your needs
* providing written rather than spoken information
* allowing additional time during arrival
* discussing a suitable parking position
* assisting with ordinary luggage where operationally possible
* adapting communication or service arrangements where possible
* noting dietary or allergy-related requirements
Haus Mannenberg does not provide medical care, personal care, lifting or transferring assistance.
Guests who require continuous support should travel with an appropriate companion or professional assistant.
Allergies, Assistance Dogs and Dietary Requirements
Haus Mannenberg is a non-smoking property, but we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. The house contains natural materials such as timber, stone and textiles, and dogs are welcome at the property by prior arrangement.
Guests with severe allergies, respiratory sensitivities or dietary requirements should contact us before booking.
Trained assistance dogs are considered separately from ordinary pets. Please contact us in advance so that any particular requirements can be discussed.
Emergency Access
Because of the historic layout and the presence of stairs, independent evacuation may be difficult for some guests.
Guests who may require assistance in an emergency should inform us before arrival so that we can explain the available routes and discuss suitable arrangements.
Stairs, exits and corridors must remain clear at all times.
Feedback
Accessibility is an ongoing process.
